School Memories of Caitlan Abrams Freund
Catlian Abrams Freund went to Leverett Elementary School on Montague Road from 1990-1994 or 1995. At that time, the school looked the same except there was no construction going on and it had two big trees in front of the gym.When Caitlan was in school there were some different staff, but many of the teachers were the same. She had Bobby Jordan and Mr. Holstrom for principals. The nurse was Ms.Prescott, and the custodian was John. Her 3rd grade teacher was Ms. Starierro, her 4th grade teacher was Nancy Gibavic, and her 5th & 6th grade teachers were Ms. Godsey and Ms. Gow. All her teachers are all still here except her 3rd grade teacher, Ms. Starierro.
The students' school day was very similar to ours today. Most students took the bus to school. The students had all the same school hours as we do now. Caitlan had all the same subjects that we have now, except Spanish. At recess they played kick ball, four square, and tether ball. Before the construction work, we played those games, too. Now we play more field games. They used the same equipment that we do.
Caitlan especially remembers the egg drop at the Drink Fair and the 6th grade field trip.
