The Fantasy World by Kacy
Once upon a time… that is how most stories start, but this one is different. Now let us start again. In a moment you will meet a family from 2100. Their world is based on an 1800’s society. Let us begin.
There once was a family of four: Lily the Mom, Richard the dad, Emily twin #1 (born one minute before Mily), and Mily twin #2.
Emily and Mily were grade A+ students and 14 years old. They still believed in fairies and such. Lily wanted her daughters Mily and Emily to become ladies and have a proper education, while they didn’t want to learn proper English and how to curtsy politely. They wanted to find fairy circles and castles, to help fair maidens.
“Mom this is boring! Why on earth do we have to go to the prom wearing pink ugly dresses? We are too old for it,” said Emily and Mily at the same time.
“Now, now. Be still. I’ll buy non-ugly blue dresses that will go perfectly with your pearl dangles and matching neck lace,” Mom promised them.
Dad came up and asked, “How are my girls holding out?”
“We can’t hold out much longer! You said we could play today,” whined Mily.
“STOP IT!” hissed Emily. “You’ll make us stay longer.”
“Sorry,” said Mily. She squirmed. She loved her family, but Mom was hard on them and Emily had a temper problem. It was like Goldilocks. Mom was too hot, Emily was too cold, but Dad was just right.
“Mily!” shouted Mom.
“Sorry Mom,” said Mily for the thirteenth time that day.
“You say ‘sorry’ too much! At the prom you will smile instead,” sighed Mom. “You may go outside girls.”
“YYYYYYEEEEAAAAHHH!” shouted the girls.
The girls weren’t careful. They ran outside into the Starlight Woods and it was getting dark. They were going to go inside, but they stepped into a discarded two-dimension circle!
Chapter 2
“EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK! HHHEEELLLPPP! Ohhhhh!”
They landed with a soft thump.
“Where are we?” Asked Mily.
A fairy-looking thing was peering out at them.
“Where all ‘sci-fi’ creatures live. I’m Tonus. Spreader of all things that are at least semi-true. Good or bad.” he stretched out his hands to help them up.
“Thank you, Tonus,” said the twins nervously. They got up and followed Tonus.
“Hi, Manuela! You’ll have to take over. I’m showing humans around. Yeah, me a-human-shower-a-rounder!” And as if he had just remembered about them, he turned and said excitedly, “We don’t have many humans. I suppose you stepped into to a discarded two-dimension circle?”
“Yes, now where are we?” asked the twins (who as you have probably have guessed were startled).
Tonus looked hurt.
“Don’t you realize where you are?”
“Nope.”
Chapter 3
“This is your Kingdom from the past! Your great place to rule! We must take you to the dying king, while avoiding the Hippagriph Trio.” he told them in a quiet whisper. “Of course there are more than three.
“Why are you saying it like that?” asked Emily in her bossiest voice.
“They could be anywhere.” Tonus looked around before going on, “The worst is,” he shuddered, “Capron. He is really evil and to tell you just how evil they all are here is a sad little story. They watched my grandpa die and just laughed.”
“Who is Capron?” Mily wondered aloud “Is he bad? Emily when are we going home?” She hadn’t meant the panic and fear in her voice.
Mily didn’t need to tell Emily that she was scared. It was written on her face and in her voice. She looked at Tonus to see if he had noticed. He hadn’t. Thank God.
Chapter 4
“It was written in the stars long ago, that two twins would fall out of the hole you two fell out of. Then the king’s magic would fail. When a king’s magic fails him he is supposed to die on the spot. King Studies is very wise. He is very sick, so he hasn’t been using his magic. He probably sensed you, so he should have sent guards down by now.”
A bell gonged and the whole forest was silent. Then the whole forest cried. Tonus’s face went white the instant he heard the sound.
Chapter 5
“Long live King Studies’ spirit.” Tonus cried silently. Manuela told them that the king had died and they should be extra careful on their way to the castle.
“He probably died a natural death. If not, I blame Capron.”
“Is Tonus coming with us to the castle?” Mily squirmed. She would feel better if someone else came.
“Yes. Oh, and another warning. You won’t have anything but yourselves,” she added almost sarcastically and as a side note, “and Tonus.”
They made Tonus settle down and soon they were off. Tonus sat down and explained most of the story, and the plan. Manuela explained the rest.
“I can’t go much farther, I’m bound to the cave,” Manuela explained.
So off they went to where nobody in his or her right mind would go: The Forest.
Chapter 6
The forest would take what it wanted from them, but it was a shortcut. The forest was very creepy and spooky. They walked for hours with nothing happening. Mily felt braver. They decided to take a rest. They sat down on narrow stumps and talked for a while.
When they sat down, they heard a bone-chilling whoop of joy and Tonus sat arrow-straight. This scared Mily. Tonus told them to be quiet. This also scared Mily.
The whooping came from a man. He was small and round and chanting something about Rumplstiltskins and Capron. Tonus told them to be absolutely silent. Tonus whispered something about going out to try and talk to Rumplstiltskins.
Tonus was gone so long that Emily went out too and the last thing Mily heard was Emily screaming “WATCH OUT!!!!!” to Tonus.
Then the light was no more.
Chapter 7
Mily nearly screamed out of sheer shock. This was the end of the forest. She could see the castle. She nearly cried out of joy. A very beaten, old, round man stood in front of a big, powerful looking man. He was very angry with Rumlstiltskins. He had knocked them out. He had been denied and kept talking about how Rumplstiltskins was so disgusting.
Capron?
Chapter 8
If this is Capron, then she should get Tonus and Emily and GO!!! Ooohhh! Her head hurt! She figured that someone had hit her on the head and knocked her out. Now where were Mom and Dad and Emily and Tonus?
She looked around as best as she could and realized Mom and Dad were in 2100 and Emily and Tonus were next to her. Capron wanted to see Tonus alone.
What will we do? Mily thought.
Chapter 9
Capron decided to meet Emily and Mily after Tonus. Tonus looked scared, angry, shocked, and like he wanted to say something but couldn’t.
He said he would die right then and there if he could not speak with the girls but the twitch in his eye made Emily and Mily relax.
“I need to speak to them alone, no guards listening, or I swear on Capron’s future grave I will kill either him or myself.” Again that twitch.
“The iron room for us!” A common disgust ran through the room.
Once in the room, Tonus went rambling as if Emily or Mily could understand him.
“Tonus!” Emily nearly screamed an impatient scream. “Slow down. We can’t understand you.”
“They’re going to try to stop you from becoming princesses in the peace which is coming to the kingdom. You need to make sure he doesn’t stop you. I’m not sure how I can help, but I’ll try. Capron says he wants to kill me!”
Tonus saw the look that said they wanted him to say that he was joking.
“I’m dead serious! No pun intended. Right?”
Right then and there they all started laughing. They didn’t know why, but they did.
Then there was a knock telling them Emily and Mily were supposed to go and see Capron.
Chapter 10
“Hello girls. You aren’t much but someday you are going to rule this sci-fi world! Isn’t that great!” He talked to them like 3 year olds.
“It would help an awful lot to know what you were talking about,” Emily said the same honey-coated voice.
“But we don’t!” Mily joined.
“Oohhhh, I bet you do.” Capron winked, “and you’re going to help me. Won’t it be fun!” Again Mily and Emily were 3 year olds.
“You do know we are 14. Or is your brain just TINY?!?!” Emily taunted.
Mily stood there in shock. Emily was going to die. Mily burst into tears and Emily was trying to comfort Mily and taunt Capron at the same time.
“SILENCE!!!!” Capron shouted. “Make sure Tonus and Emily are kept comfortable.”
“Picking favorites already? HA!” Emily kept trying to taunt Capron fruitlessly “What are you going to talk about?”
“Quiet!” Capron said impatiently, “I want to speak to Mily.” His voice was sweeter than it ever been with Emily.
Chapter 11
“I need to talk to you. You are soon to be princesses, and I need you to help me sort out some problems with another person. He is your friend Tonus. He has a really wrong impression of me. If you make him see I can be a good person, I will help you get to the castle. What do you say?”
“I think it’s great that you want to change your reputation,” Mily smiled. “Are you sure you want to do this?”
“Yes, of course.” Capron almost smiled. Then he called for a celebration.
Chapter 12
“Tonus, could I speak to you?” asked Mily.
“Of course! I needed to speak to you too.” Tonus told her, “What did Capron ask of you?”
“He asked me to tell you that he thinks that YOU have a very wrong impression of him and he wants to help Emily and me!” Mily blurted out impatiently. “Now do you have anything else to say? Wait a minute. Didn’t Capron tell you he wanted to kill you?”
Tonus looked awfully ashamed.
“I didn’t want you or your sister to become friends with him, so I told you two that he wanted to kill me. The guards don’t like death threats, so I just said that I would kill someone and they would look like they wanted to kill me. The guards also like listening in on special secrets, so I told them a couple on the way out and then I told them they couldn’t listen in on one. Really easy huh?” Tonus’s face was red.
“So, you are okay with letting Capron help Emily and me?”
“Of course, so could I help you a little? I’ll tell Emily and you can tell Capron.”
“Great! Thanks, Tonus. I hope you are forgiven by Capron.”
Chapter 13
“Capron, I have the most WONDERFUL news. Tonus has forgiven you!” Mily told him the whole story again and then he told her the worst news he could.
“I have just been told by a palace guard that I can not go near the castle, so I can’t escort you to the castle. I don’t know why so, don’t ask. I’m extremely sorry.”
“So am I, Capron so am I.”
Later she told Tonus what had happened.
“I can still bring you there!” exclaimed Tonus when he discovered Capron could not bring Emily and Mily near the castle.
“Of course you can!” Mily was really excited.
She ran to tell Emily and found her in her room close to tears.
“What’s wrong Emily?”
“I miss Mom and Dad. I know you really like it here and I really want to help everyone here, but I want to at least visit Mom and Dad.”
“Guess what, we might be able to do that later. Tonus is taking us to the castle!”
“Really? When? Today, tomorrow… WHEN, I say! When?”
“I don’t know. I’ll go and ask Tonus. Want to come with me?”
“You bet! Race ya!” Emily and Mily ran to ask Tonus their question.
Chapter 14
“Tonus when are we leaving?”
“As soon as possible.” In fact they left that day and traveled for an hour and heard “THEY ARE COMING!” and Emily and Mily hastened their pace and almost bumped into the head maid.
“Sorry your Highness…es. I didn’t see you. Ether of you.” She sort of laughed and then told them her name and status, “Hello I’m the head Maid so people call me Queenie. Might I inquire you names?” This time she giggled.
“Yes, Queenie. You may. I’m Mily and this is Emily. Were you surprised to see there were two of us?”
Emily waved when recognized and then just smiled.
“Just a little. So, you’re the twins that are to rule! I’ve heard so much about you two!”
“Good or bad, might I inquire?”
“Good, mostly.”
Tonus took them to the crown room to get them fitted.
“You need a crown to be royal in this land,” Tonus told them.
Later when they entered the crown room Mily and Emily were shocked at how many crowns there were and even more shocked when Tonus told them that all the crowns were different in some way.
“That is truly amazing, Tonus. They are all made with beautiful craftsmanship, I’m sure. The crowns are beautiful.” Emily was staring at an especially amazing and beautiful pair of crowns. Mily came over and stared at them too. Tonus seeing they both loved the crowns took them down and put the crowns on their heads and called them queens.
That night they had a ball and everyone welcomed them and told them to call on them if they needed anything.
Later, Emily excused herself and then Mily excused herself to check on her. She found Emily crying and asked her what was wrong.
“What’s wrong Emily?” Mily asked.
“I miss Mom and Dad, Mily. That’s what wrong! I need to be scolded and punished and be just me!”
“Emily, you could have just told me. I miss them too. Let’s go to Tonus and ask if we can do something about it.”
Later Tonus smiled and told them, “Of course they can be brought or you can go.”
Almost at once they both said, “Could you really bring them here?”
“Yes we can do that. Do you want us to?”
They just gave him a look that said ‘are you really asking that question’ and then Tonus shrugged and said, “Well some people don’t really like their parents, so I’m just making sure.”
“Well, how soon can you bring them here?” The twins were now very excited and impatient.
“As soon as we find them and then teleport them here. It could take up to 3 days but we will try and do our best.”
Later the family was reunited and Emily and Mily went on with being regal queens. They no long missed anything and Emily got an occasional scolding. But the most important thing is that they all lived happily ever after!
