SUPERVISION OF NON-TEACHERS

  1. The basic goal of supervision and evaluation of all personnel is improvement in their work and assurance of the effective operation of our school.  Additional goals are the identification and recognition of the strengths of employees, areas which require improvement, assistance for personnel in achieving the highest level of effectiveness, and decision making about further employment.
  2. Each non-teaching employee (custodians, teacher aides, clerical employees, and cafeteria employees) will receive a written comment on his or her work annually, which will serve as an end of year evaluation of that employee’s work and, when appropriate, a plan for improvement of the following year.
  3. The principal will notify the employee, in writing if there is some serious difficulty in an employee’s work. In such cases, the Principal and the employee will mutually review goals for the employee and determine strategies for improvement.  This mutual review will result in a completed, written statement.
  4. Nothing in this policy will preclude dismissal of a non-teacher in accordance with the terms of his or her contract.
