Food Allergens

Keeping your children safe and healthy is our top priority in LES Food Service.  We are not a nut-free school, and common allergens such as wheat, soy, dairy, and peanut butter are used in our menu rotations.  Food handlers are trained in safe food handling procedures, cleaning and sanitation, and allergy awareness.

In accordance with state regulations, medical documentation is required for food allergies or intolerances that require dietary modifications or substitutions. Documentation should be submitted to Nurse Leah and must include; identification of the medical or dietary condition, food or foods to be omitted, and choice of foods to be substituted.

This information will be shared with school food service personnel, but please do come and speak with us directly so we can make sure that your child is receiving a meal that is safe for them.
